This school year Scott High School received several new staff members including new teachers, a new principal, and a new assistant principal.
Christina Fletcher was recently named our new assistant principal and dean of students.
Christina Fletcher loves to travel in her free time. She has vacationed in France, Jamaica, and has enjoyed multiple Caribbean cruises.
She also has fun bowling, cooking, and having small get-togethers with family and friends.
Fletcher is familiar with Toledo Public Schools. She graduated from Rogers High School. After graduating from Rogers, Fletcher attended the University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University.
She also taught in Toledo Public for 15 years. She was a teacher at Libby for seven years and at Phoenix Academy for eight years. During her time a Phoenix, she was the lead teacher, which is similar to an administrator.
She likes working at Scott more than any other place she has taught. Fletcher stated, “I love the school spirit. There are lots of programs and we have a community hub with Mr. Peterson that I enjoy.”
The drawback to her job at Scott is that, as a dean, she mainly interacts with students that are in trouble. Fletcher said, “There are a lot of people late to school, unnecessary
attitudes, and more people need to take school seriously.”
Though she may not see them as often, Fletcher would like to congratulate those students who are doing well in school.
“I feel like we’re moving in a new and positive direction. We are going to see the attendance and positive behavior rise. We are off to a good start for this school year.”
